When preparing your proposal, we urge you to:

  • Follow the Federal Opportunity Announcement (FOA) prompts exactly, using the FOA as the foundation for proposal document headings and subheadings.
  • Use reference manager software to facilitate proper citing of literature.

Please keep in mind that the SBIR process is very competitive, and a proposal might not be accepted the first time.  It will be important for a submitter to consider the reviewers’ feedback if planning to resubmit the proposal during the next call for proposals. Applicants are responsible for ensuring their proposals meet all FOA requirements.
